Film Reviews

A list of every movie I’ve seen in 2010 (well… those I have an opinion about.)

Ratings on a scale of A+ to F. Short commentary in one line.

Easy A- B+

This movie felt sort of like Mean Girls. That’s a very good thing.

Vampires Suck- D+

Laugh count: 0. I’m completely open to Twilight hate, even though I enjoyed the books. I understood every joke in the movie… it’s just none of them were funny.

Inception- A

This movie wins. Enough said.

Sunshine Cleaning- B

The acting was amazing, and the story had lots of promise. But loose ends tied up a little too easily as my belief lost its suspension.

Toy Story 3- A-

Only the cutest movie in the history of… this year!

Eclipse- C+

Loved it, minus the virgin/whore complex Mormon thing going on. Taylor Lautner obvs needs to work out more.

Valentine’s Day- C

There was way too much going on. Too many stars, too many plots, too many “saw that coming” cliches.

She’s Out of My League- B

Funnier than I expected. I pretended I’d never seen movies just like it before.

Julie & Julia- B+

It made me want to eat things. TWSS. Not Boneless duck, though.

Training Rules- A-

Very informative documentary on an interesting topic. Biased, but who cares?

(500) Days of Summer- A

So good. Clever, unique, awesome and other adjectives that mean good things.

Sex and the City 2- D-

TV show = yes. This movie = NONONO. Me = offended multiple times. Boo.

Fired Up!- C-

Predictable. Funny-ish I suppose, but mostly just meh. Watched the whole thing, though.

The Blind Side- B+

Emotion-y. I cried in front of strangers… it was a bit cathartic, so no big deal. Really liked this movie.

Sherlock Holmes- C

Annoying. Robert Downey Jr. = meh. Plot = double meh. Books are much better. Rachel McAdams was good.

The Times Traveler’s Wife- C

Confusing. I suppose not knowing what year you’ll be in next would be confusing.

District 9- B-

Uncomfortable. Gripping, but not really in a good way. That might be my fault, though. Great for what it is.

Inglourious Basterds- A-

Enthralling. Fantastic screenplay and acting. Didn’t like the ending that much, but I get it. No biggie.

Avatar- C+

Pretty. I’d be entertained just looking at it. I’d rather do that actually. The script was cringe-worthy.

Into the Wild- A

Amazing. One of the best movies I’ve seen in a long time. Makes me think… I like that. Loved Emile Hirsch in it.

Did You Hear About the Morgans?- F

No. No. No. This was Sex and the City without sex or the city. What were you thinking, Hugh Grant and SJP?

New Moon- C+

Bella needs a new facial expression. Edward needs to be less annoying. The plaid shirts were obviously the best part.
